Keith Olbermann is My New Hero!

He was great on SportsCenter. He's even better on MSNBC.

Watch him call out the Bush Administration in the most courageous commentary that any journalist has given on television since Edward R. Murrow called out Joe McCarthy. Don't just read the summary. Watch the video.

Florida Folkie Steve Blackwell Dies

Steve Blackwell, folkie from the Punta Gorda, Florida area, has died of cancer. You can find an obituary here.

Steve sent me an album of his family's folk band a couple years ago and it's very good. My parents live in that part of Florida, and I had hoped to see him perform some time when I was down visiting them - unfortunately, that will not happen now.

Living in the Now

I have been on an online mailing list with Victoria Moon for many years. Her husband was very nearly on the Delta Comair plane that crashed last weekend. His plane going to Atlanta the previous night had been canceled and he was given the choice to take the 6 am or 9 am plane and he chose the 9 am plane.

Victoria wrote an article about that experience for Relevant Magazine Online. I hope you take the time to read it.
